Sit with Me
Most of my life I was taught how to work.
Work harder. Work longer. Get the job done.
Those lessons served me well, but somewhere along the way I realized I'd learned how to do without ever learning how to simply be.
Even in ministry, we can become so busy doing things for God that we neglect spending time with God.
Sit With Me was born from a quieter season of life when God seemed less interested in my productivity and more interested in my presence. Less concerned with what I could accomplish and more concerned with whether I would simply sit at His feet.
The Christian life isn't about striving to earn God's approval. Jesus already finished the work. The invitation now is to slow down, lay your burdens at His feet, and rest in His grace.
Maybe today His message to you is simple:
"Son, slow it down and learn to be... now come and sit with Me."
Matthew 11:28: "Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
